Three Northwest Guilford wrestlers claimed individual titles at the N.C. High School Athletic Association state championship tournament in Greensboro.

Cater Furman (Northwest Guilford) defeated Charles Thompson (Mallard Creek) in a 4-3 decision to win the 8A 126-pound state championship.

Connor Reece (Northwest Guilford) won the 8A 138-pound weight class by a 17-2 technical fall at the 3:54 mark. Reece beat Samuel McQueen (Laney) in the championship match.

Jack Gibson (Northwest Guilford) claimed the 8A 150-pound state championship with an 8-6 decision over Kalil McDowell (Wakefield).
While no other Guilford County wrestlers won state championships, a number of boys and girls wrestlers finished with top four placements in their respective weight classes.
