Ben L. Smith senior Jyi Dawkins was selected to the Carolinas Classic All-Star Game, which will be played later this month.
Dawkins is Guilford County’s all-time leading scorer. This season, he averaged 32.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 4.2 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game, according to MaxPreps.
Over 27 games as a senior, Dawkins shot 60% from the field (92-of-153) and 85% from the free throw line (62-of-73).
Dawkins scored 881 points in his senior season, which saw the Golden Eagles post a 23-6 record and win the Metro Conference title with a perfect league record.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds, Dawkins is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com and has signed with Western Carolina.
While Dawkins is the only player from Guilford County selected to the all-star game, Dudley girls basketball coach Frank McNeil will serve as a coach on the girls all-star team.
